PIFA Street Fair 2018

June 7, 2018

It has been two years since the last Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, and PIFA is back and better than ever!

Curated by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, PIFA is an 11 day, citywide celebration of international arts in Philadelphia. The festival culminates with the sensational PIFA Street Fair on Broad Street on Saturday, June 9.

Starting at 11AM, this massive and free day-long party, takes over Broad Street from City Hall to South Street. Fair goers can enjoy many live performances ranging from music to dance to interactive pop up acts, all for free!

Performances include the West Philly Orchestra, First Capital Drumline, Kulu Mele, The Ambassadors Jazztet, The Kimmel Center’s La NOCHE Band, and the ultimate showstopper, the Olympic Dream High Dive Show, featuring a high dive from the top of the 80’ tower into a 10 foot deep pool!

Fair-attendees can also enjoy the many rides and interactive activities including a ferris wheel, virtual reality swings, bike race sandbox, aerosculpture, and much more! PIFA will also offer up the best food and drink vendors throughout the block party route, including several beer gardens and food trucks.

The fair closes down Broad Street to vehicular traffic. If you can’t travel on Broad Street – your best bet is to travel under Broad Street! Hop the Broad Street Line to City Hall, Walnut-Locust or Lombard-South to get to the action.

Coming from the east, west or the burbs? Ride the Market Frankford Line and/or Trolley Routes 10, 11, 13, 34 & 36 to 15th Street, or take the Regional Rail to Suburban Station. If you’re looking to take a bus to the party, hop Routes 2, 4, 9, 12, 16, 17, 21, 23, 27, 31, 32, 33, 40, 42, or 45 but be sure to check System Status before you head out to check for any detours.
