2016 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade

The 1.4-mile 6ABC Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade is the oldest Thanksgiving parade in the country and a true Philadelphia tradition. The city streets make way for massive floats and giant balloons, plus local performers from choirs, dance groups, marching bands and more. And Santa himself arrives in grand fashion, ushering Philadelphia into the holiday season.

Now in its 97th year, the annual Thanksgiving Day parade promises another visual and celebratory feast. So bundle up, grab the kids or a group of friends and head out for an early holiday treat. Additional event information is available on the official parade website.

The parade begins at 20th & Market Streets and continues along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway running through Logan Square, Center City West, and Rittenhouse Square neighborhoods. It's so easy to get here on SEPTA. Ride Regional Rail to Suburban Station, Trolley to 19th or 22nd Street Stations, Market-Frankford Line to 15th Street, Broad Street Line to City Hall or Bus Routes 7, 32, 33, 38, 43 or 48 - just look out for detours (see below).

Due to the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, some SEPTA Bus Routes will be detoured. Some detours begin Wednesday, 11/23 at 6p and continue through 3a on Thursday, 11/24:

ROUTES 31, 33, 38, 44, 124, 125, MFO

On Thanksgiving Day (11/24), detours begin at 3a and are scheduled to continue through 2p:

ROUTES 2, 7, 17, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 43, 44, 48, 124, 125, MFO
