Amtrak Switch Replacement Project

Due to Amtrak construction, there will be temporary service changes on select Regional Rail Lines from Sunday, September 30 until Wednesday, October 10. Amtrak will be replacing a critical switch used by both SEPTA and Amtrak trains traveling towards 30th Street Station. Construction will require ALL trains operating to/from 30th Street to use a single, high train-traffic, track.
Given the amount of Amtrak and SEPTA trains operating in this vicinity, temporary service changes and impacts to service will be required to help alleviate congestion within the Amtrak work zone on the Cynwyd, Chestnut Hill East, Chestnut Hill West, and Trenton Lines. Customers may experience in-service delays of up to 15 minutes on these lines and the Fox Chase and Paoli/Thorndale lines.
