SEPTA’s SEPTAbulous in Pink! Campaign Raises $6K for Jefferson Health’s Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center

January 8, 2020

On January 8, 2020, SEPTA presented Jefferson Health with a check for $6,000 raised through its recent SEPTAbulous in Pink! Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

In September and October 2019, SEPTA volunteers worked at various SEPTA locations to raise funds and awareness through donations and the sale of raffle tickets in support of SEPTA’s Breast Cancer Awareness Day which was October 11, 2019. The raffle included three (3) SEPTAbulous in Pink! gift baskets featuring a SEPTAbulous in Pink! insulated bag and t-shirt plus a Fitbit Charge 3 and a Fitbit Aria 2 Scale and this fabulous-ly pink gift set from the Philadelphia Eagles!

Thanks to the campaign, SEPTA volunteers raised $6,000! The SEPTAbulous Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Day team members volunteered their time and efforts to ensure that awareness of this global affliction was adequately brought to the attention of not only SEPTA employees and their families, but also to SEPTA’s overall ridership.

This effort was a true partnership and we thank Jefferson Health and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center for working with SEPTA on this great cause.

Breast cancer is a disease that will effect one out of every eight women and one in a thousand men. The importance of raising funds in the fight against breast cancer cannot be overstated – nor can the crucial need for early detection and preventive care.

We ask that whenever you see someone wearing pink on SEPTA, you think of those bravely battling breast cancer and those that fought the good fight.

SEPTA looks forward to more collaborations with regional leaders like Jefferson Health and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center.

Stay tuned for Breast Cancer Awareness Day 2020!
