The SEPTA Bus Revolution team thanks everyone who participated in Year 1 of the SEPTA Forward: Bus Revolution!
They received nearly 8,000 responses to the Fall 2021 survey, met many of you in-person at 10 pop-up events at bus stations across the region, and discussed the project with you at 4 virtual “Transit Talks”. Your feedback was—and will continue to be—instrumental in helping to shape the next phase of the project: developing multiple design options for a new bus network.
While they heard from you about bus network trade-offs, they took a deep dive into the current state of the SEPTA Bus Network and its region. And they are ready to share their findings with you. Executive Summary. A summarized version of the State of the System and Market Analysis that describes the underlying market and need for transit services together with network-level opportunities for improvements.
State of the System. This describes SEPTA’s bus network at a system level. It is designed to show how the network overall works now, including its strengths and weaknesses. The analysis also identifies opportunities to strengthen the system and improve the quality of service in Southeast Pennsylvania.
Market Analysis. This investigates the underlying market for transit in SEPTA’s service area. It looks at where existing and potential riders live, and where and when they travel. Ultimately, it helps identify gaps and needs—both spatially, and by time and day of week.

In the coming weeks, the Bus Revolution team will also be releasing a series of Route Profiles. Individual Route Profiles offer an in-depth look at each of SEPTA's Bus Routes. Route Profiles will be released according to geographic sub-areas.
The Bus Revolution team will also provide a “dashboard” that shares the underlying data and analysis.
