It's Center City Restaurant Week!

September 24, 2019

Now thru Friday, 9/27, restaurants across Center City offer three-course dinners for only $35 per person. In addition, many also offer a three-course lunch for $20. Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to explore the exciting and growing culinary scene in Philadelphia. This year, there are dozens of eateries across Center City participating in Restaurant Week - making it very difficult to choose! Here we narrowed it down to five spots located along our Route of the Week - the Route 42!

1. Chatayee Thai - 1227 Walnut Street

Chatayee Thai’s menu captures the vibrant taste of ancient Thai cuisine. Their mission is to use the freshest local ingredients alongside exotic foods imported from various regions of Thailand to create an authentic Thai dining experience. The presentation of their dishes is modern and imaginative, served in an elegant and friendly atmosphere.

2. Alma de Cuba - 1623 Walnut Street

An award-winning collaboration with chef Douglas Rodriguez, Alma de Cuba embodies the soul of Cuban cuisine, bringing the unmistakable cooking of the island into the 21st century. It’s the closest you’ll get to Havana without buying a plane ticket — a Caribbean oasis in the heart of Philadelphia.

3. Gran Caffe L'Aquila - 1726 Chestnut Street

Gran Caffe L'Aquila is an ambitious two-level eatery/gelateria/coffee roastery, open in the morning for espresso and pastries, followed by such treats as alcohol-infused gelato, house-cured meats and a wine bar featuring by-the-glass options from all over Italy. In addition to delicious Italian cuisine and excellent service, the upstairs dining room boasts a touch of romance via a skylight and library setting.

4. Porta - 1216 Chestnut Street

Porta Philadelphia occupies a former furniture store in the heart of Center City.. With three floors of drinking and dining space, Porta is the largest restaurant in the city and has become a destination for groups large and small — after-work get-togethers, Friday night dance parties, 300-guest weddings, corporate events — or just a dinner for two. Invested with the spirit of the neighborhood and the culture of the 215, Porta Philly was quick to be known for some of the best pizza in the city

5. Franklin Social Kitchen & Bar - 401 Chestnut Street

Franklin Social, at the Renaissance Hotel Philadelphia Downtown, serves up contemporary American dining in the heart of Philadelphia's Old City Historic District. Whether you're craving a quick bite or full meal, Franklin Social will bring you the best products and flavors from around the region to entice your taste buds.  All of this Philly flair is brought to you by a friendly and engaging team that should make you feel right at home.
