Kids Ride Free to the Independence Seaport Museum

April 14, 2021

In case you missed it - going out this Spring with the kids is easier [and less expensive!] than ever! Last summer – SEPTA announced that children 11 and under ride free when accompanied by an adult. That – along with free transfers and the better weather – make a daytime trip in the coming weeks a must-do.

The Independence Seaport Museum has extended their hours of operation for the Museum's building and National Historic Landmark ship Cruiser Olympia!

Their timed ticketing system will remain in place - with tickets being sold every 30 minutes. It is highly encouraged for guests to purchase their tickets in advance of their visit. And don't forget! You save $2 on admission when you flash your SEPTA Key card!

Get there on SEPTA! SEPTA Bus Routes 21, 33 & 42 stop at The Great Plaza at Penn's Landing. Routes 17 and 48 stop at Front and Market Streets. Route 12 stops directly at Spruce Street Harbor Park at Columbus Blvd and Dock Street. Route 25 runs along Columbus Boulevard. You can also take the SEPTA Market-Frankford Line to the 2nd Street Stop. From there - head East over the Market Street Bridge. Now that kids ride free - a family of four pay just $8 roundtrip - instead of $16 (or more with transfers)!

And remember– riding the bus, trolley and/or subway is 10X safer than driving. Regional Rail is 18X safer!

And when you ride - remember to keep your mask 😷 over your mouth and nose and stay socially distanced!
