Penn's Landing

Penn's Landing is a waterfront area of Center City Philadelphia along the Delaware River. Its name commemorates the landing of William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania in 1682. It hosts family-friendly attractions, concerts and events all year long.

During the Winter months - it's home to the Blue Cross RiverRink, a heated lodge that has all sorts of food and drink options, an arcade, and lots more!  The park is open seven days a week, including holidays! 

How to get there

The the Market-Frankford Line to 2nd Street or hop Bus Routes 5, 12, 17, 21, 25, 33, or 42.

Things To Do

No matter what the season - there’s always something to do at Penn’s Landing. During the warmer months its home to many festivals, concerts, and the Spruce Street Harbor Park pop up park. There's also Summerfest and roller skating at the Blue Cross RiverRink. In the winter it's all about ice skating with a Winterfest holiday garden pop up nearby. 

You can also visit the Independence Seaport Museum - which just happens to be a SEPTA Perk

Penn’s Landing is also just a short walk away from historic Old City, which has plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and art galleries.

Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington’s Tent

Museum of the American Revolution

The Museum of the American Revolution celebrates the often-unsung women of American history with a slate of special programming, including pop-up art-making activities and screenings of theatrical performances telling the life stories of women like Elizabeth Freeman, an enslaved woman who sued for her freedom (and won) and Rebecca VanDike, one of the earliest women to ever vote in America. Don’t miss the museum’s newest exhibit Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington’s Tent, which highlights the stories of several women who helped to shepherd the revolutionary relic through history, including George Washington’s wife Martha and her great-granddaughter and Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s wife, Mary Curtis Lee. Get there on SEPTA. Short walk from Jefferson Station or ride SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line to 5th Street/Independence Hall Station.
