For the second year in a row, Philly’s beloved beer garden program Parks on Tap sets up a summer-long stationary stop at the Fairmount Water Works. Enjoy summer sips (including craft brews from Mainstay Independent Brewing) and tasty bites with an expanded menu, including weekend lunch options. Head there Wednesday thru Sundays, now thru 8/28. Take Route 32 and 38 there!

This pop-up rum garden experience every Thursday thru Saturday at the Independence Seaport Museum is full of cheeky and pirate-y activities for adults, including a plank walk against the museum’s pirate-in-residence Calico Jack and a beanbag-toss competition. Plan Your TripOpening on the 18th - the most comprehensive touring exhibition about the Wizarding World makes its world premiere this winter at Philadelphia’s iconic science museum. The immersive experience reveals the artistry and craftsmanship behind the props, costumes and environments from the blockbuster films of the Harry Potter series, as well as Fantastic Beasts. Note that tickets are in limited supply for opening weekend; however, the exhibit store will be open to all museum visitors. Get there on SEPTA. The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival — returning for the first time in three years — illuminates Franklin Square now thru 8/7 with grand, artistic creations. The square comes alive with thousands of LED lights strewn across different displays of intricate, handcrafted lanterns constructed by lantern artisans from China. The six-week-long season is free for guests of all ages and will include a variety of blockbuster hits. The series begins begins Friday, 7/22 and will continue every Friday through 8/26. Believe half of what you see. The Museum of Illusions opens a Philadelphia outpost in Old City on Saturday, 3/12, joining existing locations in Toronto, Paris, Chicago and New York. With over 80 exhibits meant to trick the eye, the attraction delights visitors with holograms, stereograms and optical illusions, all the while teaching about vision, perception and the human brain.
