Plan Your TripThe Garden Railway is celebrating 25 years with a new addition—300 feet of track! This is the largest expansion of the Garden Railway since it was installed in 1998. The new looping section of track extends the total model rail trackage to a third of a mile, making it one of the largest outdoor model train displays in the country. Get to Morris Arboretum on SEPTA. Ride the Chestnut Hill East or Chestnut Hill West Line to the last stop. From there hop the Route L or 97 toward Plymouth Meeting or Plymouth Meeting Mall to the Germantown Avenue & Northwestern Avenue stop. Walk down Northwestern Avenue for .5 miles past Chestnut Hill College and the apartment complex until you come to the black wrought-iron gate of the Arboretum. Best part - "walking in" saves you 50% on admission!

Plan Your TripPhilly’s roving beer garden brings brews and bites to parks and green spaces in neighborhoods in nearly every corner of the city this year. From 5/24 thru 5/29 - Parks on Tap sets up shop at Clark Park. The taps flow from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and then from noon to 10PM on Monday. Get there on SEPTA. Routes 13, 30 & 34 drop you right there!

In addition, kiddos can participate in hands-on activities by making memorial-themed ribbons and creating revolutionary-themed thank you cards for members of the American Legion. Pick produce, sample spices and enjoy prepared meals from more than 60 Lao, Khmer, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian vendors. Plan Your TripThis brand-new exhibit at the Philadelphia Zoo - open from 4/1 thru 10/1 - features 25 gigantic animatronic insects and dinosaurs, offering visitors a chance to examine the traits that allowed insects to survive long after their dinosaur pals kicked the bucket. Keep an eye and an ear out as these life-sized dinosaurs and super-sized insects move and communicate with curious guests. Note: There is an additional charge to access the exhibit. Plan Your TripLaunched in 2022 and open by appointment only - this fledgling (free) museum near Oxford Circle is home to a nationally recognized historical exhibit on the history of Chinese in America. It debuted at the New York Historical Society in 2014, moved to San Francisco’s Chinese Historical Society of America, and then was acquired by the newly formed American Chinese Museum in Philadelphia last year. The exhibit spans the 19th century to the present day, from gold miners and railroad workers to the Chinese American Exclusion Act, the history of Chinese food in America, and U.S.-China relations. To get here on SEPTA - take the Fox Chase Line to Ryers Station - it's a 12 minute walk from there or take the Route 18.

Plan Your TripTeen mental health collective Creative Resilient Youth (CRY) hosts a FREE week-long art exhibit featuring artist talks, panel discussions, and other youth-centered programming at Asian Arts Initiative during the last week of May (May is also Mental Health Awareness Month). The exhibit kicks off on Friday, 5/26 with an opening reception and features a closing panel discussion on Thursday, 6/1. The exhibit includes artwork created by emerging Philadelphia-area artists, self-portrait collage work about identity and social pressures in partnership with Asian Arts Initiative’s Young Artist Workshop, and artwork by CRY’s graduating cohort who dedicated two years to exploring mental health, artmaking, design, and political education.
