Philadelphia International Airport

Philadelphia International Airport is the largest airport in the Delaware Valley region and in the state. Located a few miles south of the city, the airport is a major international hub for American Airlines.

How to get there

The best travel option when traveling between Center City Philadelphia and Philadelphia International Airport is SEPTA Regional Rail. SEPTA’s Airport Line stops at all major Philadelphia International Airport terminals and is just a 25 minute ride from Center City with one intermediate stop. The Airport Line runs every 30 minutes from 5am to midnight on weekdays and hourly on weekends. 

The Airport is also served by three bus routes - Route 37Route 108, and Route 115.

Fare

For travel from Center City to PHL, a SEPTA TrailPass, TransPass (weekends only), and the One Day FleX Pass are valid for travel between Center City Philadelphia and the Airport. This includes TrailPasses, TransPasses, and One Day FleX Passes loaded on your SEPTA Key card. You can also use Travel Wallet on the SEPTA Key card. Travel Wallet allows you to pay as you go versus using a daily, weekly or monthly pass. If you don't have a SEPTA Key card - they are available at SEPTA Sales Offices and SEPTA Key Fare Kiosks. The initial cost of the card is $4.95. Airport fare is $6.50 when using Travel Wallet.

You can also purchase a Quick Trip using cash, credit or debit from a SEPTA Key Fare Kiosk located at Jefferson Station, Suburban Station, Temple University Station, William H. Gray III 30th Street Station, and Penn Medicine Station. A Quick Trip is valid for one-way travel between PHL and Center City Philadelphia via SEPTA's Airport Line. The cost is $6.75.

Or if you're tight on time - you can pay $8 cash or credit onboard the train.

If you're coming from the airport - you can purchase a Quick Trip using cash, credit, debit card from the SEPTA Key Fare Kiosks located at each Airport Line Terminal Stop. The cost is $6.75. Or if you are planning to use SEPTA beyond this trip, you can purchase a SEPTA Key card from the Fare Kiosk (cost is $4.95) and load Travel Wallet - this allows you to pay as you go (fare is $6.50 with Travel Wallet). 

Fare can be purchased onboard the train but is $8 cash or credit only. Please be sure to tell the conductor your final destination when you get on the train.

Stops on the Aiport Line
Airport Line service runs seven days a week, between 5:00 a.m. and 12 midnight.
Temple University

The main campus of the famed Philadelphia institution, near the corner of Broad & Cecil B. Moore.

Jefferson Station

Underneath the famous Reading Terminal Market and adjacent to the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Convenient connections to Greyhound and NJ Transit bus services at 10th & Filbert Station. Steps away from major downtown hotels.

Suburban Station

Located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia, nearby to a number of major corporations, the Art Museum area and Ben Franklin Parkway. Major transfer point for other SEPTA Regional Rail services.

William H. Gray III 30th Street Station

Convenient connections to Amtrak and NJ Transit rail services; BoltBus and MegaBus services. Nearby other SEPTA transit services including the Market-Frankford Line, Trolley lines and Center City destined bus routes.

Penn Medicine Station

Walking distance to University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, University of the Sciences, CHOP, shopping and restaurants.

Eastwick

Nearby to SEPTA bus routes, PNC Operations Center, and more Airport hotels.

Terminal A (East and West Gates)

The station platform connects to the east portion of the terminal. Access to west gates may require customers to walk outside.

East Gate: Aer Lingus, American Airlines, American Airlines including all flights to Chicago (ORD), Dallas (DFW) and Miami (MIA)
West Gate: Icelandair, British Airways, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, American Airlines International & Caribbean service

Terminal B

The Marriot Hotel is a short walk from the station platform.

Terminal C + Terminal D

Visit Terminal D featuring a renovated shopping plaza of modern retailers.

Airlines: American Airlines, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Delta Connection, United Airlines

Terminal E + Terminal F

The end point of all Airport Line trains. Terminal F is a short, indoor walk from the station platform.

E Airlines: JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines
F Airlines: American Eagle (formerly US Airways Express)
