Independence Blue Cross RiverRink

Experience a waterfront winter wonderland at the Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest. Glide around an enormous ice skating rink, snap a photo by the festive holiday tree, play games on the boardwalk and warm up with pay-as-you-go seasonal treats next to a toasty fire pit (or inside a cozy cabin). Entry into Winterfest is free, tickets are required to ice skate, and cabins and fire pits must be reserved in advance. Get there on SEPTA. Hop the Market-Frankford Line to 2nd Street or Bus Routes 12, 21, 25, 42, 17, or 33.

Philly Fashion Week

Various Locations

Join over 10,000 fellow fashion lovers for the annual winter version of Philly Fashion Week, now in its 17th year, dedicated to promoting fashion, lifestyle and innovation in Philadelphia. The city’s official fashion week features over 70 local and international designers participating in runway shows, pop-up shops, a streetwear show, a student designer show, business workshops and more. The week kicks off on Wednesday - 2/21 - with an Industry Night at Fashion District Philadelphia in Center City, with runway events and shows held at Live! The Art of the Brick

The Franklin Institute

Everything’s clicking into place. Returning to The Franklin Institute for the first time since 2015, The Art of the Brick displays more than 100 works all made completely of LEGO — from recreations of masterworks like Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa to original works of LEGO sculpture, including a 20-foot-long T. rex dinosaur skeleton and many pieces that are just plain fun. Every sculpture in the hugely impressive display is the handiwork of contemporary artist Nathan Sawaya, the first artist ever to create an exhibition solely of LEGO art. Leave the driving to SEPTA. Northern Liberties

A collaboration with The Piazza and the Northern Liberties Business Improvement District, this weekly yearlong farmers market - open every Saturday from 10AM to 2PM  - will feature over a dozen vendors including fruit and vegetable farmers, dairy purveyors, chocolate makers, hyper-locally brewed beer and more.

Thomas Dambo’s TROLLS: Save the Humans

Philadelphia Zoo

Six friendly giants make a special appearance this season at the Philadelphia Zoo. Made out of repurposed wood, each massive troll towers up to 15 feet tall and shares a different story. Created by world-renowned recycle artist Thomas Dambo, the family-friendly display serves as an inspiring reminder to reduce, reuse and recycle. The exhibition is included with general admission to the Philadelphia Zoo. Get there on SEPTA Routes 15 or 38. And don't forget - you've got Perks! The Philadelphia Union host the Chicago Fire at Subaru Park on Saturday, 2/24 at 7:30PM. To get there on SEPTA - take the Wilmington/Newark Line or Routes 37, 109, or 113 to Chester Transportation Center. From there - hop the shuttle bus to Subaru Park. 11th Annual Philly Bierfest

German Society Of Pennsylvania

Oktoberfest comes early with this certifiably German beer extravaganza. Philly Bierfest brings more than 50 German-style craft beers by over two dozen Pennsylvania brewers, plus plenty of imports and ciders. Winter at Franklin Square

Franklin Square

Franklin Square celebrates the winter season with free nightly light shows inspired by Benjamin Franklin’s legendary kite and key experiment - from 11/16 thru 2/25. Free light shows — set to a soundtrack of seasonal tunes —  illuminate the square every 30 minutes from 5 p.m. until close. Before or after the show, grab a burger or beverage fireside from the on-site Square Burger, play a round of festive Chilly Philly Mini Golf or hop aboard the classic Parx Liberty Carousel. Get there on SEPTA: it's a short walk from 5th Street/Independence Hall Station on the Market-Frankford Line!

Greater Philadelphia Expo Center

This annual event draws 300-plus exhibitors, speakers and home-design experts out to Montco for three days of activities and showcases. Specialists in gardening, landscaping, interior design, architecture, construction and more set up shop to answer questions and offer inspiration. New additions this year include the Whiskey Backyard, featuring drink samples, games and barbecue, as well as a range of Make It, Take It workshops. Tickets are required. Get there on SEPTA!
