New Regional Rail Schedules in Effect Sunday, December 16, 2018

The December schedule change includes adjustments to train departure times for all lines except Cynwyd, Media/Elwyn, and Wilmington/Newark, with significant adjustments to Chestnut Hill East, Chestnut Hill West, Fox Chase, Lansdale/Doylestown, and Trenton trains. These schedule changes are designed to improve on-time performance and service reliability.

Saturday and Sunday service will not change as part of the December 16th schedule change.

Schedules, service, and information is subject to change. Check septa.org regularly for updates and new information.

What's Changing?

  • ADJUSTMENTS TO WEEKDAY TRAIN RUN TIMES: For most lines, select trains will depart stations EARLIER or LATER than previously scheduled

  • Significant changes to Chestnut Hill East, Chestnut Hill West, Fox Chase, Lansdale/Doylestown, and Trenton Weekday train departure times and service patters. Select trains will depart EARLIER than previously scheduled

Where else can I see the schedules?

  • AT STATIONS: Look for schedule posters with the December 16, 2018 effective date or check the printed schedules available at Center City Stations and Customer Service locations. Printed handheld schedules will be available the week of December 10, 2018.

  • ON YOUR PHONE: Users of the official SEPTA App for iPhone and Android devices should download the new schedules the day of the schedule change (Sunday, December 16th). Please look for the alert that will appear upon launching the official SEPTA App.

Airport Line

Changes include adjustments to service patterns.

INBOUND (toward Center City):

  • *Train #452, departing Airport Terminal E & F at 5:37 p.m., will no longer stop at Melrose Park and Elkins Park stations. As an alternative, customers should transfer in Center City to Warminster Line Train #7450 (departing Suburban at 6:11 p.m.) for service to these stations

OUTBOUND (toward Airport Terminals):

  • Train #471 (departing Suburban at 9:55 p.m., will be replaced by Train #8471. This train will operate from Center City stations to Airport Terminals at the currently scheduled times; however, it will no longeroriginate from Glenside Station. This train will now originate from Wayne Junction

Chestnut Hill East Line

Changes include adjustments to select train departure times.

INBOUND (toward Center City):

  • *Train #707, departing Chestnut Hill East at 6:25 a.m., will now depart at 6:27 a.m., 2 minutes LATER at all stations

  • *Train #6713, departing Chestnut Hill east at 7:17 a.m., has been renumbered to #715 and will now operate continuing service to Trenton Line stations and Trenton Transit Center

  • *Train #731, departing Chestnut Hill East at 10:15 a.m., will now depart at 10:29 a.m., up to 14 minutes LATER at all stations

  • *Train #733 (departing Chestnut Hill East at 11:26 a.m., will now depart at 11:32 p.m., 6 minutes LATER at all stations

  • *Train #743, departing Chestnut Hill East at 3:48 p.m., will now depart at 3:53 p.m., 5 minutes LATER at all stations

  • *Train #765, departing Chestnut Hill East at 7:22 p.m., will now depart at 7:18 p.m., 4-5 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • *Train #769 (departing Chestnut Hill East at 8:22 p.m., will now depart at 8:20 p.m., 2-6 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • *Train #777, departing Chestnut Hill East at 11:22 p.m., will now depart at 11:12 p.m., 10 minutes EARLIER at all stations

OUTBOUND (toward Chestnut Hill East):

  • Train #6730, departing Suburban at 9:13 a.m., will be replaced by Train #728, departing Suburban at 9:26 a.m.

  • Train #8754, departing Suburban at 4:37 p.m., has been renumbered to #6754. This train will operate according to the current schedule

Chestnut Hill West Line

Changes include adjustments to departure times for select trains.

INBOUND (toward Center City):

  • *Train #9820, departing Chestnut Hill West at 8:15 a.m., will now depart at 7:58 a.m., 17-20 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • Train #8754, departing Chestnut Hill West at 3:58 p.m., will be replaced by Train #8246, departing Chestnut Hill West at 3:52 p.m. with continuing service to Manayunk/Norristown stations

  • Late Night Train #868, departing Chestnut Hill West at 10:49 p.m., will now depart at 10:54 p.m., 5 minutes LATER at all stations

OUTBOUND (toward Chestnut Hill West):

  • *Train #809, departing Suburban at 7:09 a.m., will now depart at 7:00 a.m., 9 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • Train #813, departing Suburban at 8:14 a.m., will now depart at 8:12 a.m., 2 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • Trains #7841 (departing Suburban at 5:21 p.m.), #7843 (departing Suburban at 5:52 p.m.), and #7845 (departing Suburban at 6:15 p.m.) will depart 2 minutes LATER between Queen Lane and Chestnut Hill West Stations

  • Train #861, departing Suburban at 9:50 p.m., will be replaced by Train #4861, departing Suburban at 9:58 p.m., 8 minutes LATER at all stations

  • Train #867 - the final train of the service day - departing Suburban at 11:52 p.m., will now depart 3 minutes EARLIER between Queen Lane and Chestnut Hill West stations. This train will now depart Queen Lane Station 12:08 a.m.

Cynwyd Line

There are no changes to the Cynwyd Line. Trains will operate on the current schedule. However, customers should still refer to the timetable with the December 16, 2018 effective date.

Fox Chase Line

Changes include adjustments to select train departure times.

INBOUND (toward Center City):

  • *Train #809, departing Fox Chase at 6:36 a.m., will now depart at 6:27 a.m., 9 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • *Train #813, departing Fox Chase at 7:37 a.m., will now arrive at Center City stations 2 minutes EARLIER. This train will still operate with continuing service to Chestnut Hill West stations

  • Train #8749, departing Fox Chase at 4:57 p.m., will now depart at 4:59 p.m., 2 minutes LATER at Fox Chase, Ryers, and Cheltenham Stations

  • Train #861, departing Fox Chase at 9:18 p.m., will be replaced by Train #8471, departing Fox Chase at 9:20 p.m., with continuing service to the Airport

OUTBOUND (toward Fox Chase):

  • Train #6842, departing Suburban at 4:08 p.m., will no longer stop at Wayne Junction Station

  • Train #6856, departing Suburban at 7:23 p.m., will now depart at 7:18 p.m., 5 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • Train #868, departing Suburban at 11:26 p.m., will now depart at 11:31 p.m., 5 minutes LATER at all stations

Glenside Combined

Changes include adjustments to service at Melrose Park and Elkins Park stations. Customers should refer to the timetable for complete service information.

Lansdale/Doylestown Line

Changes include adjustments to train times, including late night service, with departures that are EARLIER than previously scheduled on select inbound and outbound trains.

INBOUND (toward Center City):

  • Train #501, departing Colmar at 5:07 a.m., will now depart at 5:02 a.m., 5 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • Train #503, departing Doylestown at 5:19 a.m., will now depart at 5:12 a.m., 7 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • Train #6593, departing Doylestown at 6:30 a.m., will replace Train #5711. This train will operate on the currently scheduled times at all stations. This train will no longer operate continuing service to Trenton Line stations

  • Train #513, departing Lansdale at 7:10 a.m., has been renumbered as #511. This train will operate on the currently scheduled times at all stations

  • LATE NIGHT SERVICE:

    • Train #581, departing Link Belt at 7:24 p.m., will now depart at 7:23 p.m., 1 minute EARLIER from Link Belt and Colmar stations

    • *Train #587, departing Doylestown at 8:46 p.m., will now depart Doylestown at 8:49 p.m., 3 minutes LATER and between 1 and 4 minutes LATER between Doylestown and 9th St. Stations

    • Train #589, departing Doylestown at 10:07 p.m., will now depart at 10:12 p.m., 5 minutes LATER at all stations

    • Train #591, departing Doylestown at 11:14 p.m., will now depart at 11:12 p.m., 2 minutes EARLIER at Doylestown and continuing through Lansdale Station and between 3-5 minutes LATER at select stations after Lansdale. Please refer to the timetable for complete service information

OUTBOUND (toward Doylestown):

  • *ADJUSTED/ADDED D STOP TIMES: Trains #564 (departing Suburban at 2:47 p.m.), #568 (departing Suburban at 3:50 p.m.), #580 (departing Suburban at 5:58 p.m.), 584 (departing Suburban at 7:00 p.m.), #592 (departing Suburban at 7:00 p.m.), and #594 (departing Suburban at 9:55 p.m.) will have adjusted D stop times at 9th St., Fortuna, and Colmar stations. Please check the schedule for complete service information (D Stops: Trains stop to discharge/pick up passengers but may depart ahead of schedule)

  • Train #574, departing Suburban at 4:50 p.m., will operate with adjusted D stop times at North Wales and Pennbrook stations and will depart 1 minute LATER from Lansdale Station

  • Train #580, departing Suburban at 5:58 p.m., will no longer make stops at Wayne Junction and Fern Rock Transportation Center

  • Train #584, departing Suburban at 7:00 p.m., will operate with D Stops and will depart between 1 and 4 minutes LATER at 9th Street, Fortuna, Colmar, Link Belt, Chalfont, New Britain, and Delaware Valley University stations

  • Train #588, departing Suburban at 7:50 p.m., will depart 5 minutes LATER at Chalfont, New Britain, and Delaware Valley University stations

  • Train #592, departing Suburban at 8:50 p.m., will now depart at 8:55 p.m., 5 minutes LATER at all stations

Manayunk/Norristown Line

Trains will operate according to the current schedule (with the exception of the outbound train noted below); however, customers should still refer to the timetable with the December 16, 2018 effective date for complete service information.

OUTBOUND (toward Norristown):

  • Train #6246, departing Suburban at 4:29 p.m., will be replaced by #8246; however, it will operate at the same times as currently scheduled

Media/Elwyn Line

Trains will operate according to the current schedule; however, customers should refer to the timetable with the December 16, 2018 effective date for complete service information.

Paoli/Thorndale Line

Changes include adjustments to select train departure times.

As part of the Regional Rail schedule change, the schedule for Bus Routes 204, 205, and 206 will also change, effective Monday, December 17, 2018.

INBOUND (toward Center City):

  • *Train #592, departing Thorndale at 7:40 p.m., will now depart at 7:45 p.m., 5 minutes LATER at all stations

  • *Train #594, departing Thorndale at 8:40 p.m., will now depart at 8:45 p.m., 5 minutes LATER at all stations

OUTBOUND (toward Thorndale):

  • *Train #501, departing Suburban at 6:11 a.m., will now depart at 6:06 a.m., 5 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • *Train #503, departing Suburban at 6:45 a.m., will now depart at 6:38 a.m., up to 7 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • Train #589, departing Suburban at 11:32 p.m., will now depart at 11:38 p.m., 6 minutes LATER at all stations

Trenton Line

Changes include adjustments to train times, with select outbound trains departing EARLIER than previously scheduled.

INBOUND (toward Center City):

  • Train #9700, departing Trenton Transit Center at 7:50 a.m., has been renumbered to #728 and will now operate continuing service to Chestnut Hill East stations

  • Train #7250, departing Trenton Transit Center at 4:16 p.m., will now depart at 4:20 p.m., 4 minutes LATER between Trenton and North Philadelphia stations. This train will arrive in Center City at the currently scheduled times

  • Train #1760, departing Trenton Transit Center at 5:15 p.m., has been renumbered to #7450 and will now operate continuing service to Warminster Line stations

OUTBOUND (toward Trenton):

  • *Train #707, departing Suburban at 7:04 a.m., will now depart at 7:06 a.m., 2 minutes LATER at all stations

  • *Train #5711, departing Suburban at 7:56 a.m., has been replaced with new Train #715, departing Suburban at 8:00 a.m. and arriving at Trenton Transit Center at 9:03 a.m.

  • *Train #731, departing Suburban at 10:53 a.m., will now depart at 11:07 a.m., 14 minutes LATER at all stations

  • *Train #733, departing Suburban at 12:04 p.m., will now depart at 12:10 p.m., 6 minutes LATER at all stations

  • *Train #9739, departing Suburban at 3:00 p.m., will now depart at 3:02 p.m., 2 minutes LATER at all stations

  • *Train #9741, departing Suburban at 3:50 p.m., will now depart at 3:48 p.m., 2 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • Train #743, departing Suburban at 4:29 p.m., will now depart at 4:34 p.m., 5-9 minutes LATER at all stations

  • Train #8749, departing Suburban at 5:37 p.m., will depart 1 minute LATER at Croydon, Bristol, and Levittown stations. This train will now arrive in Trenton at 6:30 p.m.

  • Train #765, departing Suburban at 7:59 p.m., will now depart at 7:54 p.m., 5 minutes EARLIER at all stations

  • Train #769, departing Suburban at 9:01 p.m., will now depart at 8:54 p.m., 7 minutes EARLIER and between 2 and 6 minutes EARLIER at all other stations

  • Train #777, departing Suburban at 11:57 p.m., will now depart at 11:47 p.m., up to 10 minutes EARLIER at all stations

Warminster Line

Changes include adjustments to train departure times and the return of full train service for select midday trains.

INBOUND (toward Center City):

  • Train #6417, departing Glenside at 8:01 a.m., has been renumbered to #4517

  • Midday Trains that were previously replaced by a Shuttle Bus originating from Warminster Station, #425, #429, #433, #437, #441, and #445, will resume normal Train service at all stations. Please refer to the timetable for complete service information

  • Train #449, departing Warminster at 3:25 p.m., will now depart at 3:30 p.m., 5 minutes LATER at Warminster, Hatboro, Willow Grove, Crestmont, Rosemont, Roslyn, and Ardsley Stations

  • Train #6455, departing Warminster at 5:31 p.m., will now operate 4 minutes LATER between Willow Grove and Center City stations. This train will now depart Willow Grove at 5:47 p.m.

  • Train #471, departing Glenside at 9:23 p.m., will be replaced by Train #4861, departing Glenside at 9:26 p.m., with continuing service to Chestnut Hill West Stations. Please note, this train will not stop at University City Station

OUTBOUND (toward Warminster):

  • Midday Trains that were previously replaced by a Shuttle Bus between Glenside and Warminster stations, #416, #420, #424, #428, #432, and #436, will resume normal Train service at all stations. Please refer to the timetable for complete service information

  • Train #452, departing Suburban at 6:05 p.m., will no longer stop at Melrose Park and Elkins Park stations. As an alternative, customers should take #7450 (departing Suburban at 6:11 p.m.) for service to these stations

  • *Train #2450, departing Suburban at 6:16 p.m., has been renumbered to #7450 and will no longer originate from University City Station. It will now originate from 30th Street Station (departing at 6:06 p.m. with an added stop at Melrose Park and Elkins Park stations. This train will now depart Suburban Station at 6:11 p.m., up to 5 minutes EARLIER at all stations. TIP for University City Customers: Take Train #452, departing University City at 5:57 p.m.

 West Trenton Line

The updated West Trenton Line schedule with the December 16, 2018 effective date reflects recent changes to service due to catenary construction, including adjustments to midday weekday train departure times from Center City between 9:05 a.m. and 2:05 p.m. Customers should check System Status or follow @SEPTA_WTRregularly for the latest service information. Additional changes are noted below:

OUTBOUND (toward West Trenton):

  • Train #394, departing Suburban at 10:14 p.m., will arrive at West Trenton Station 10 minutes LATER, at 11:39 p.m.

Wilmington/Newark Line

There are now major changes to service; however, customers should still refer to the newly printed and published timetable with the December 16, 2018 effective date for complete service information.
